PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to meet with PTI founder Imran Khan.
The KP Chief Minister has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan through the Advocate General.
The letter requested that the Chief Justice, Superintendent Adiala Jail and the Ministry of Interior be directed to arrange a meeting between the KP Chief Minister and the PTI founder.
The letter to the Chief Justice states that after the resignation of Ali Amin Gandapur, Sohail Afridi has been elected as the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the newly elected Chief Minister should assume government responsibilities.
In the letter, the Chief Minister wrote that it is constitutionally and morally necessary to seek guidance from the founder PTI on the formation of the provincial cabinet and important matters. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has already requested the Ministry of Interior, the Home Secretary and the Punjab government.
Sohail Afridi said in the letter that guidance from the founder PTI is necessary regarding matters with other provinces and guidance from the founder PTI is also necessary regarding the ban on the shipment of wheat by Punjab. In the public interest, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi should be allowed to meet in the Central Jail Adiala under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
The letter states that I am the elected Chief Minister of the province and the representative of 45 million people. It is my constitutional and moral duty to take instructions from the Patron-in-Chief of my party.
