Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami has filed a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan Islamabad against the worst rigging and mandate fraud in the November 14 by-elections allegedly with the collusion of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the Sindh government and the Provincial Election Commission.
On behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami, the application was submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan by UC7 TMC Model Town District Korangi Ansarullah and UC7 Ward 1 TMC Korangi District Kamran Solangi.
All the written evidence including form 11 and 12 have also been submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan along with the application.
Jamaat-e-Islami candidates said in the petition that their polling agents had obtained their signed forms 11 and 12 from the presiding officers of the respective polling stations, according to which the Jamaat-e-Islami candidates were declared successful with an overwhelming majority.
He took the position that despite the success in Form 11 and 12, the results in Annex A and Form 13 issued by the ARO office were changed and PPP candidates were declared successful.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Munam Zafar Khan demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to stop the Provincial Election Commission from releasing the final results of the rigged seats.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami has informed the Election Commission in writing about pre-poll rigging and changing the election results in the by-elections before the elections and also during the voting.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue the constitutional, legal and democratic struggle against the worst rigging and usurpation of public mandate.
