According to sources, white-ball head coach Mike Hesson and T20 team captain Salman Ali Agha discussed the series against South Africa and the T20 World Cup 2026.

The captain and coach are keen to strengthen and stabilize the national team’s combination for the T20 World Cup.

Sources say that the head coach and captain are not in favor of changing the leadership and combination until the T20 World Cup.

Sources further say that Salman Ali Agha will lead the T20 team in the series against South Africa. There is no possibility of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan returning to the T20 team.

An important meeting between the team management and the selection committee in this regard is expected in the next few days.

Senior sports analyst Abdul Majid Bhatti says that the unanimous view of the Pakistan Cricket Board, team management and captain is that Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan have no place in the T20 format at this time.
