The delegation led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf to attend the Islamabad talks with the US has departed.
The Iranian delegation was seen off at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The Iranian delegation that came to Islamabad for the talks included the Speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, among others.
It should be noted that yesterday, negotiations were held in Islamabad between Iran and the United States to end the war that began after the attacks on Iran on February 28. The delegations, led by US Vice President JD Vance, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, and Iran’s Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, participated.
The head of the Iranian delegation, Baqir Qalibaf, said in a statement on the social networking website after the talks that the time has come for the US to understand whether it can earn our trust or not. Iran does not trust the opposing side due to the last two wars, but the US has understood our logic and principles.
He said that Iran has presented positive and future-oriented proposals in the talks.
On the other hand, US Vice President JD Vance said that detailed discussions were held on various issues in the talks, but no final agreement could be reached in the talks that lasted more than 21 hours and that he would go to Washington to brief President Donald Trump on the details of the talks.
JD Vance said that the US showed great flexibility and goodwill during the talks and has also made its red lines clear to Iran.
