Tehran: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh has said that US ships can also pass through the Strait of Hormuz, provided that they are not involved in any hostile activity.

According to BBC Persian, Iranian officials say that the Strait of Hormuz is currently open, but for the ships to pass safely, they must be in contact with Iranian forces to ensure technical and security matters.

According to the Iranian deputy minister, Iran will ensure the safety of ships through its designated safe routes.

This statement comes at a time when US President Trump has criticized Iran, accusing it of not taking the appropriate approach to oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and that this is against the agreed agreements.

On the other hand, in a statement published in Iranian state media, the Revolutionary Guards have instructed ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to strictly adhere to maritime security rules and take alternative routes to avoid potential dangers, especially mines.

According to a map released by the Revolutionary Guards, ships entering the Sea of Oman can pass through the northern route of Larak Island and head towards the Persian Gulf, while on their return, ships can pass through the southern part of Larak Island and head towards the Sea of Oman.

According to experts, the ongoing tension in the Strait of Hormuz could pose a threat to global oil shipments, as this route is considered one of the world’s most important energy corridors.
