A recent report warns that the increasing role of artificial intelligence and automation could put up to three million people out of work over the next decade.
The report, by the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), warns that major changes are needed to ensure people have the skills they need to stay in business.
According to the team, the sectors most at risk of unemployment include administrative, secretarial, customer service and machine operators.
The NFER warns that this is not just a threat to employees in these sectors, but also to young people who leave education without any skills.
