Heavy snowfall blankets hilly areas, paralyses life

LAHORE : Heavy snowfall occurred in the upper areas, covering everything in white, making the views in Kailash even more beautiful.

Light snowfall once again occurred in Neelum Valley. Up to five feet of snowfall was recorded in Grace Valley. People were trapped in their homes, work to restore electricity was ongoing.

The road leading to Grace Valley was closed, and land communication was cut off in Leepa Valley due to heavy snowfall.

The successful helicopter rescue and relief operation of the Pakistan Army continued, with a patient suffering from medical complications being transferred from the helicopter emergency facility to Rawalpindi Military Hospital.

The Pakistan Army’s operation to rescue citizens stranded due to snowfall also continued.

The Kotli-Nakiyal Road was restored for traffic, and several families were rescued in Pir Nasura and provided with food and other relief items.

It should be noted that more rain and snowfall have been predicted across the country from today. Rain and snowfall are likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rain and snowfall are also expected in Islamabad, Murree, and Galiyat.

It has been reported that there will be clouds in different areas of Punjab as well. The mercury has dropped further in the upper areas. The temperature in Leh was minus 14, minus 9 was recorded in Astore, Kalam and Nathia Gali, minus 8 in Parachinar, Kalat, and minus 7 degrees Celsius in Gopis.
