Amid the fresh hike in the price of POL and other daily life commodities, the opposition has launched protest demonstrations against the policies of the incumbent government.
Though it is a natural thing that opposition protest the policies of the sitting government and they question the competence of the people sitting on the driving seats of the country’s progress. But the only thing different about the fresh protests is the huge inflation which has badly affected the lives of the common men.
Though there are various genuine reasons behind the inflation and we hear the ministers of the governments echoing the price hike happening same in the almost all parts of the world mainly due to the covid. But for common men, these excuses can do much. What a common man needs is relief and easy access to daily life commodities.
This is the very right time for the divided opposition to stand together against the government and they have started to wisely cash the opportunity. In this regard, a protest demonstration was held in the Rawalpindi city where a number of the political workers gathered to record their voices.
In contrary to this, the government officials are seen to be saying that the opposition should protest which is their democratic right but they should refrain from taking the law into their hands. And also they are bashing out at the opposition for their wrongdoings in the past.
Moreover, the negotiations between IMF and government are also underway where the governor of SBP has hoped to come up with good news very soon. Meanwhile, when he was chased by Pakistan journalists in the US and asked about inflation, he was reluctant to answer.
When we reflect on this whole scenario we can see that the government itself is also facing difficulties to defend the fresh price hike, though the statements are issued on regular basis by the ministers and advisors of the Prime M Minister.
Now what actually matters is the possible rethinking of inflation and finding a possible way to control the price hike and proving relief to the masses. PM in a meeting yesterday has talked about targeted subsidies on a few important commodities and it is a must to go for every possible option.
If wise decisions are not taken at this time then the government might come under possible trouble and the opposition may cash this opportunity in a better way. Because these are the reasons which have a direct impact on the lives of the masses and if they will come on the roads then the worries of government will surely be multiplied.
