An important meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which the field marshal was applauded for his important role in the Iran-US negotiations. In the federal cabinet meeting, the members welcomed the Prime Minister with applause, and sweets were served to all the cabinet members in the cabinet meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided to observe Friday as a day of thanksgiving, and the nation was appealed to offer special prayers for the success of the negotiations.
Addressing the cabinet, the Prime Minister said that the efforts that we and friendly countries have made for the peace agreement should please Allah Almighty, and we should thank this Almighty God.
He said that the flames of war had almost engulfed the entire region and the entire region was affected, but through the ceasefire, Allah Almighty bestowed honor and glory on Pakistan. This success of Pakistan on the diplomatic front is the success of the entire 240 million people.

The Prime Minister said that in more than a month, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and his team worked tirelessly, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stayed awake for many nights, contacts were made and talks were held with the American and Iranian leadership, we should all applaud them together. On the Prime Minister’s request, applause was given for the Field Marshal.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the political and military leadership is united and will remain united. Through joint efforts, they played a role in peace among Muslim countries. In my entire political career, I have never seen so much coordination between the military and political leadership.
The Prime Minister said that I am grateful to the Iranian President for accepting my request, I am grateful to the US President for declaring a two-week temporary ceasefire on my request, I am grateful to Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Oman, Indonesia, UAE, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, I spoke to the Saudi Crown Prince yesterday and expressed my regret over the attack on his largest oil complex and said that the entire nation is with you.
He said that the war has been temporarily postponed, but our goal is to establish a sustainable and lasting peace. The day after tomorrow, American and Iranian delegations will come to Pakistan, hopefully the talks will be successful.
Earlier, in a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Iran and the US, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire in various regions including Lebanon.
According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, this ceasefire has come into effect immediately, which is being described as a major breakthrough for establishing peace in the region.
Welcoming the decision, he thanked the leadership of both countries and said that this move is a manifestation of wisdom and foresight.
The Prime Minister announced that delegations from Iran and the United States have been invited to Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026, for further negotiations to finally resolve all disputes.
Shahbaz Sharif said that both sides have shown extraordinary understanding and played a constructive role in promoting peace and stability.
He expressed hope that the Islamabad talks will prove to be an important milestone in achieving lasting peace and that more positive developments will emerge in the coming days.
