Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor’s Bollywood film ‘Abir Gulal’ has been cleared and the release date has been announced.

Pakistani showbiz industry big name Fawad Khan has always been careful in choosing his projects. After gaining fame with the drama Humsafar, he worked in many dramas and a few films, including Pakistan’s highest-grossing film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’. Later, he also appeared in Bollywood, but his film journey came to a halt after the Indian government banned Pakistani artists.

This ban on Fawad Khan came after the film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. After nine years, he was going to make a comeback with Vaani Kapoor through the film Abir Gulal, but the release of the film was stopped in May due to Pak-India tensions.

During this time, Fawad Khan also faced criticism for not speaking openly against India, while Vaani Kapoor also deleted all the pictures taken with him.

Now the latest development is that the film’s release is all set. According to reports, the film’s name has been changed to “Abir Gulal” and it will be released worldwide like Sardar Ji 3, but will not be shown in India. The film will hit the theatres on August 29, 2025.

This is good news for Fawad Khan who has already completed the film and is now busy with its international promotion.
