ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Courts, Islamabad, acquitted former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in a fraud case.

Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi heard the case.

Fawad Chaudhry appeared in court along with his lawyers Shams Iqbal Advocate and Qamar Inayat Raja Advocate. Complainant Malik Muhammad Zaheer appeared in court, but his lawyer Farhan Manzoor did not appear.

Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyers presented arguments on the acquittal application.

Shams Iqbal Advocate said in his arguments that the evidence in the case against Fawad Chaudhry is insufficient, and the complainant’s lack of interest is also before the court.

He said that the court is the guardian of the law and its responsibility is to decide in the light of the available evidence. The court, after reviewing the record, acquitted Fawad Chaudhry from the case.

The court disposed of Fawad Chaudhry’s acquittal application.
