With the implementation of the Finance Act 2025, taxes and duties on 7,000 items including imported milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits have been reduced.
According to the report, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, the federal government has reduced duties and taxes on more than 6,980 items including imported makeup products, milk, yogurt, butter, cheese, fruits, varnish, paint enamel and lacquers, while the regulatory duty on mobile phone SIM cards has been reduced from 15% to 12%.
Similarly, the duty on new cars and minivans has been reduced from one-third to 10%.
According to the notification, the duty on imported SUVs has been reduced by 44% to 50%, while the regulatory duty on poultry and fish has been reduced to 5%.
The duty on birds and eggs has been reduced from 15% to 10%, the duty rate on dog and cat food has been reduced by 5% to 40%, while the duty on instant coffee in retail packs has been reduced by 5%.
In addition, the duty on tobacco has been reduced by 40%, and the duty on dates, coconuts, Brazil nuts and cashews has been reduced by 16%.
In addition, the duty on figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas and mangoes has been reduced by 20%, while the duty on papaya and apples has been reduced from 45% to 36%.
According to the notification, the regulatory duty on nuts has been reduced by 4 percent, and the duty on frozen fish has been halved to 17.5 percent.
Similarly, imported makeup products are likely to become cheaper, as the notification reduces the duty on imported makeup products from 55 to 44 percent.
The duty on beauty parlor raw materials, imported sunblock and sunscreen has been reduced from 55 to 44 percent.
The duty on hair care raw materials has been reduced from 55 to 44 percent, and the duty on shaving cream, aftershave lotion and cream has been reduced from 50 to 40 percent.
The duty on face wash, soap and other raw materials, creams and lotions has been reduced from 50 to 40 percent.
The government has reduced taxes and duties on 7,000 items, including breeding chickens, frozen fish, live fish, quad fish, milk, milk powder, curd, paan, soap and many other important items for the poultry industry.
Similarly, the regulatory duty on raw materials for the industrial sector has been reduced. The regulatory duty on the import of breeding animals, breeding chickens and live fish in livestock has been reduced to five percent, while the duty on imported milk, powdered milk and curd will be 20 percent.
The regulatory duty on imported frozen fish has been reduced to 17.5 percent and the regulatory duty on imported quad fish, imported fish heads, tails and skin has been reduced to 5 percent.
The duty on imported milk cream, butter and milk fats has been reduced to 20 percent, the duty on imported cheese has been reduced to 40 percent and the duty on imported honey has been reduced to 24 percent.
The notification said that the duty on imported canned boiled vegetables, imported frozen vegetables, and imported dried vegetables has been reduced to 5 percent.
According to the notification, the duty on imported dried bananas has been reduced to 10 percent, the duty on imported dates to 20 percent, the duty on imported fresh apples to 24 percent, and the duty on imported fresh peaches to 36 percent.
The notification said that the duty on imported wheat flour and meal has been reduced to 20 percent, the duty on imported corn to 20 percent, and the duty on imported betel has been reduced to Rs. 400 per kg.
The duty on imported cocoa powder, cocoa paste, and cocoa butter, imported pasta, and corn flakes has been reduced to 20 percent, while the duty on imported pineapple has been reduced to 40 percent.
Duty on imported bulk coffee has been reduced to 15 percent, duty on imported motor spirit to 10 percent, and duty on imported carbon dioxide, magnesium, and nickel to 2.5 percent.
Duty on imported varnish, paint, enamel, and lacquer has also been reduced to five percent.
