Peshawar: Considerations have been started on imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A proposal to keep Faisal Karim Kundi as Governor’s Rule or bring a new Governor in his place is under consideration. The names of three former military officers and three political figures have emerged for the expected new Governor.
According to the issue of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being considered. The first attempt is to hand over the province to the current Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi.
Sources say that if there is no agreement on his name, then the names of three other politicians are under consideration, including Amir Haider Hoti, Pervez Khattak and Aftab Sherpao.
Sources further say that if there is no agreement on the names of the politicians, then former military officers can also be given the responsibilities of the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Former military officers in the running for the new governor include former Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. (retd) Khalid Rabbani, Lt. Gen. (retd) Ghayur Mahmood and Lt. Gen. (retd) Tariq Khan.
On the other hand, sources in the Prime Minister’s Office say that no matter is under consideration regarding Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yet.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi’s reaction to the news of imposing Governor’s rule and removing him from office has come to light.
Responding to questions from journalists in Peshawar, Faisal Karim Kundi said that he has no knowledge about the change of the governor. If the media will appoint the governor, then Allah forbid.
Faisal Karim Kundi said that he will accept the party’s decision regarding his change.
He said that he is hearing about Governor’s rule only through the media. The responsibility of the province lies with the provincial government. I believe that the conditions of our province do not allow protests. There are many problems in the province, including law and order.
He further said that there is a provision for Governor’s rule in the constitution, but no one has discussed it with me. Till today, I say that there is no talk of Governor’s rule at present.
