Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has appreciated the efforts made by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the flood victims and said that his leadership is a ray of hope for the affected families.

In his statement, Sharjeel Memon said that Bilawal Bhutto considers the suffering of the people as his own and the PPP under his leadership will not rest on its laurels until the victims are fully restored.

He said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s stance reflects people-friendliness and foresight and this is a shining example of his leadership. Bilawal Bhutto has always supported the people in difficult times and even today his top priority is the poor, farmers and flood-affected families.

The senior minister said that the federal government’s declaration of an environmental and agricultural emergency on Bilawal Bhutto’s demand is welcome, however, it is regrettable that no relief package has been announced under the Benazir Income Support Program so far.

He reminded that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had personally assured Bilawal Bhutto about this package but the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and especially South Punjab are still waiting for it.

He further said that the Chairman PPP rightly pointed out that the delay in appealing for international aid from the United Nations platform is incomprehensible. The PPP will be the voice of the people at every forum and the rehabilitation of the victims will be made a national agenda by bringing resolutions in the houses.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto visited the affected areas of Central Punjab, South Punjab and Sindh and later met the Chief Minister of Sindh and the Provincial Minister of Agriculture so that a practical plan could be made for the rehabilitation of the farmers.

He said that the agriculture sector has been affected the most and it is Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision to put the farmer back on his feet for which the Sindh government is taking practical steps and expects the cooperation of the federal government.
