The International Cricket Council (ICC) board will meet on Friday to resolve the deadlock over the hosting of the event after the Indian team refused to come to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, the meeting will consider three points. The first of these points is a hybrid option, according to which most of the matches of the event will be played in Pakistan, but India’s matches will be held in a country other than Pakistan.
According to the second option, the entire tournament will be played outside Pakistan, but the hosting rights will remain with the Pakistan Cricket Board. While the third and final option is to hold the entire event in Pakistan without India.
The third option is a point that is less likely to be discussed due to the negative economic impact on the tournament.

A PCB official, speaking to ESPNcricinfo on Thursday, said that the board has informed the ICC that there will be no discussion on the hybrid model in the meeting. After which the chances of this option have also reduced.
The official said that the PCB has asked the ICC for a reasonable or acceptable proposal before the board meeting to be held tomorrow.
