The nationwide polio eradication campaign is going to start from October 13.
According to the details, the campaign was announced by the focal person for the polio eradication program, Ayesha Raza Farooq, in a press conference.
She said that more than four hundred thousand polio workers are participating and more than forty five million children will be given polio drops.
Six nationwide campaigns have been conducted since September 2004, while the cases of refusal to take polio drops have reduced from 1.1 million to 830,000.
She further said that 29 cases have been reported from the country so far, while the number of cases has increased from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Seven million children are being born every year, due to which the target of the campaign is also changing.
Ayesha Raza said that the polio vaccine is completely safe and even Hajj pilgrims drink it. Inappropriate behavior from frontline workers is not tolerated. The target of our campaign is also affected due to the high migration of people.
