The final words of Palestinian journalist Anas al-Sharif, “Do not forget Gaza,” should make anyone who continues to support Israel’s insanity think twice.  However, it won’t.  primarily because, despite the fact that there are indications everywhere that pressure is mounting on Israel to stop its genocide in Gaza, the Zionist state’s actions scarcely reflect such indications.  Israel also lost support from the international community a while ago, and France, the UK, and Australia are about to join the rising number of Western countries that have finally chosen to recognize a Palestinian state.  However, the murderous regime is still committed to continuing its slaughter campaign. The bombs continue to fall, and the total number of fatalities—mostly women and children—has surpassed 61,000. Israel actually intends to broaden the scope of the slaughter; this week, it declared its intention to occupy Gaza City. More than 270 of the men and women who were entrusted with recording and reporting Israel’s misdeeds have been killed, adding to the increasing number of Israeli casualties. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), five of the last surviving Al Jazeera employees in Gaza and one freelance journalist were killed in a targeted attack on a media tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, adding to this alarming number.

Naturally, without providing any evidence to support its claims, Israel has conveniently accused one of the correspondents, Anas al-Sharif, of leading a “Hamas cell” and launching rocket assaults against Israeli troops. These accusations were first aired by Israel nearly a year ago. According to the Zionist book, every Palestinian—child, mother, physician, patient, journalist, or cameraman—seems to have some connection to Hamas. Throughout the genocide, Al-Sharif was one of the most well-known journalists in Gaza, covering the situation of the people every day while spending extended periods of time away from his son, age one, and daughter, age four. According to reports, an Israeli strike on his family’s home in December 2023 killed his father. Sharif disregarded Israel’s orders to evacuate northern Gaza, remaining where he probably knew the airstrikes and crimes would be concentrated. Israel is genuinely trying to penalize this kind of unwavering and committed dedication to justice and truth.  It is aware that permitting journalists like al-Sharif to carry out their duties in peace makes its murderous activities more difficult, as they require outside assistance, mostly from the United States.  The reporting that journalists in Gaza conduct reveals the true nature of Israel’s operations.  Western authorities are now under pressure and are finally acknowledging the legitimacy of a Palestinian state as a result of their efforts. However, governments have not been able to impose effective sanctions or halt the flow of weapons as a result of this effort. In light of this, Western nations’ recognition of Palestine appears to be less important if they do not alter the situation on the ground. How many more Palestinians must perish before we get to this more significant point?
