ISLAMABAD: A delegation jointly led by Member National Assembly (MNA) Sahibzada Sibgatullah and Member Provincial Assembly Sanaullah from Upper Dir met with Inspector General Police Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman in connection with the investigation into the killing of a young man Hassan alias Mankiay in the police custody some days back.
According the police official, the meeting took place at the Central Police Office here. The delegation expressed its reservations to the IGP over the killing in CTD police custody and sought action against those responsible for the killing. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP assured the delegation that fair and transparent investigation would be conducted to reach the facts. He said justice would be met in the case. He said that legal and departmental action is being taken against the personnels in connection with the case. He said a case has been registered under section 302 of the PPC and the accused are being arrested. SSP (investigation) is personally supervising the investigation.
The IGP further said that he himself is looking into the progress in the investigation and added those showed negligence leading to the death of the young man would not be spared. The participants of the delegation thanked the IGP and expressed satisfaction over what the IGP told them in connection with the investigation. DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar SSP (Investigation) Atta ur-Rehman were also present on the occasion.
