Nicholls, Martin Guptill, Colin de Grandhomme consign India to first whitewash in 30 years

New Zealand’s batsmen made the most of their home conditions and chased down 297 runs with five wickets in hand against India in the last contest to seal three-match ODI series 3-0.
Openers Martin Guptil and Henry Nicholls provided 106 runs opening partnership to lay down a solid foundation for the home side. Guptil scored 66 off 46 balls while man-of-the-match Nicholls smashed 80 runs off 103 balls including nine fours.
Tom Latham contributed 32 runs for the home side while Colin De Grandhomme played brilliantly in the end and scored 58 runs off 28 balls with six boundaries and three sixes to finish things on a strong note.
Yuzvendra Chahal bagged the highest three wickets for 47 runs in 10 overs.
Earlier, India posted 297-6 with Lokesh Rahul smashing the highest 112 off 113 balls. The right-handed batsman struck nine boundaries and two sixes. Shreyas Iyer (62) and Rahul scored 100 runs together for the fourth wicket.
For New Zealand, Hamish Bennett bagged four wickets while Kyle Jamieson and Jimmy Neesham shared a wicket apiece.
