As Indian atrocities in held Kashmir are continued, Pakistan has done well by drawing international attention towards the Indian brutalities against innocent protesters of Kashmir. In recent past despite continued aggression of India in the valley, issue of Kashmir dispute remained isolated in the international arena which helped India to run the affairs in occupied Kashmir as per own liking.
Recently Organization of Islamic Cooperation has pledged and renewed its support for people of Kashmir for the right of self-determination. It was also highlighted that since the Kashmir is a disputed issue and brutalities in the valley cannot be termed as internal matter of India. Secretary General of the OIC Ilyad Madani declared this position of the OIC in a press conference on Monday and stated commitment of the organization to a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
Issue of unprecedented human rights violations taking place in the Indian held Kashmir also attracted the attention of international media and major Western media houses have lamented the Indian approach in the valley. Secretary General of United Nations Ban Ki Moon has also stressed the need of initiating dialogue between India and Pakistan for the peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute. He while condemning killings of innocent protesters called for dialogue between Pakistan and India to end the crisis. Considering the recent ill treatment of Indian forces in Kashmir, it is evident that India has failed to provide equal treatment to people of Kashmir like rest of the Indians. It is also a fact that mere statements by world bodies on the critical situation of Kashmir are not sufficient and there is dire need to push for political solution of the issue.
Kashmir struggle is for a legitimate cause and Pakistan must do its best to draw international attention towards it.
