US President Donald Trump, who has been seeking to change governments in other countries, has had major holes in his own power, which could sink this shaky ship.

According to the international news agency Reuters, the opposition Democratic Party won a majority in both houses of Congress in the US elections, which is being described as a referendum against the performance of the Trump administration.

Trump’s Republican Party lost 7 seats in the Senate and 25 in the House of Representatives, after which it has 44 seats in the Senate and 139 in the House of Representatives.

On the other hand, the opposition Democrats have gained control of both houses. Their total seats in the Senate have increased to 54 and in the House of Representatives to 228, while the winning independent candidates will also be with them.

The war against Iran and rising inflation played a major role in the electoral defeat of Trump’s Republican Party. President Trump also admitted that his party was damaged due to the Iran war.

On the other hand, the Iranian government also called the defeat of Trump’s Republican Party in the US midterm elections a decision by the American people against the Iran war and stressed the need to respect public opinion.

Analysts who closely follow the history of American elections also say that President Trump’s foreign policy, especially his aggressive actions on the issues of Iran and Gaza, have created discontent among a large part of the American people.

According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in October, Trump’s popularity had fallen to 30 percent, while 68 percent of Americans expressed dissatisfaction with his performance.

The election results make it clear that Trump, who has demonstrated strength on foreign fronts, is now facing political resistance at home.

It should be noted that this defeat in the midterm elections will not lead to the immediate end of Trump’s presidency, but it may make it difficult for him to approve government orders and political strategy for the next two years of power. Due to which he will not be able to fulfill any of his controversial plans.
