Qatar called on Iran to immediately stop irresponsible attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and ensure freedom of international navigation, saying that the only solution to the crisis between the United States and Iran is dialogue and peaceful diplomacy.
According to the International News Agency, Ibrahim bin Sultan Al-Hashemi, Director of the Media and Communications Department of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that a quick peaceful resolution of the crisis is in the interest of all countries in the region because the effects of the tension will not be limited to any one country.
He stressed that Iran should respect the freedom of navigation under international law and open the Strait of Hormuz to international traffic. Attacks and obstructions in this important waterway are harming the interests of the entire region and its people.
The Qatari official warned that the effects of the internet shutdown in the region will also have an impact on all countries, which will also severely affect Iran itself.
He said that finding a peaceful solution at the negotiating table is the only way to maintain security and stability in the region. We support diplomatic efforts for negotiations between the United States and Iran to address the concerns of the parties and find a lasting solution to the crisis.
It should be noted that Qatar has previously called for the unconditional opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the maintenance of freedom of sea routes. This passage is extremely important for the delivery of global oil and gas.
