The Mumbai Police has issued a notice to Bollywood actor and Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan, to leave India by October 28. According to Indian media reports, this action follows his participation in a protest demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
The Mumbai Police stated that Imran Khan took part in a demonstration at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan, where protesters were calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. During the protest, the police had also taken Imran Khan into custody.
The police noted that since Imran Khan is not an Indian citizen, action has been taken against him under the relevant provisions of the Immigration Act for his participation in the protest. The notice issued by the police directs him to leave the country by October 28. Following this incident, attention has shifted toward the actor’s legal situation and his potential next steps.
