Khawaja Asif said in a statement on X that before knowing this sinister plan, it is very important to understand the pattern of the Bannu incident that took place on July 15, 2024, in which the Gul Bahadur group of the TTP first carried out a suicide attack on Bannu Cantt, resulting in the martyrdom of 8 army personnel, while four days after the attack, a chaotic demonstration was held in Bannu on July 19, 2024, in which political and nationalist miscreants, including groups affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Insaf and PTM, also joined.

He said in his statement that instead of raising their voice against the terrorists who attacked the cantonment, these miscreants deliberately turned the crowd towards them and started looting by taking advantage of the broken wall of the cantonment supply depot and when the security forces resisted, they started firing at the crowd.
