US Vice President-elect JD Vance has stated that the United States is in direct contact with the Houthis.

According to media reports, he said that Washington is also in constant communication with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other affected parties in the region.

According to Reuters, US officials recently held a secret meeting with Houthi representatives in Muscat, the capital of Oman. During the meeting, the Houthis gave assurances that they would not target US naval vessels and would maintain the 2025 ceasefire.

However, the US State Department has not confirmed this specific meeting.
