Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pazishkian on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The scope of US pressure could also extend to Iran’s close allies such as Russia and China, which maintain economic and political ties with Iran at various levels.
