Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the appointment of Dr. Muhammad Salman, Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute of Health (NIH), as the Acting Executive Director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

The appointment comes in the wake of the tragic PIMS fire incident and the interim findings of the inquiry committee.

The Prime Minister has also directed the immediate and simultaneous appointment of new officers against the positions vacated by the officials removed from their posts.
