In the first session of the second Test against England, Mohammad Abbas achieved this feat by dismissing Ben Duckett and Imo Gay. He dismissed Ben Duckett for 17 runs to complete his 900th first-class wicket.

Mohammad Abbas achieved this milestone in his 222nd first-class match. His first-class career includes an average of 20.43, 57 five-wicket hauls and 15 10-wicket hauls in a match.

After this feat, Abbas moved up to fifth place in the list of bowlers who took the most wickets in first-class cricket in the 21st century. England’s James Anderson leads the list with 1157 wickets, while South Africa’s Simon Harmer has 1056, Sri Lanka’s Milinda Pushpa Kumara has 1010 and England’s Tim Murtagh has 959 wickets.

England struggled in the opening session of the Lord’s Test, losing 3 wickets for 57 runs in 13 overs, all three wickets taken by Mohammad Abbas. Mohammad Abbas also took the crucial wicket of England captain Joe Root.
