Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered the Iranian judiciary to take legal action domestically and internationally for human rights violations committed during the two wars imposed by Israel and the United States.
According to Iranian media reports, Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said in a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of Ayatollah Beheshti during the ‘Judiciary Week’ that the most important legal and judicial issues facing the entire Iranian nation at the moment are the restoration of laws violated by international criminals, arrogant and aggressive forces and taking legal action.
He said that protecting the rights of the Iranian people goes beyond individual legal matters and includes defending the country’s collective and national rights against crimes committed by foreign aggressive forces.
The Supreme Leader said that Iran’s judiciary has the responsibility to protect the rights of the people, restore public rights and legal freedoms, prevent corruption, uphold justice and establish the rule of law, and monitor the implementation of the law.
He said that taking action against international crimes and rights violations by aggressors, especially those committed over the past year, is one of the key responsibilities of the judiciary.
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said that the blood of those martyred during the two wars waged by the US and Israel against Iran in June 2025 and February 2026, and the physical, psychological, financial, and spiritual losses inflicted on Iran and its people inside and outside the country, provide evidence and a foundation on which hundreds, if not thousands, of important legal cases can be established.
Ordering that US and Israeli war crimes be brought to justice in local and international courts, he said that the martyrdom of children and unprecedented war crimes in Minab and Lamard, attacks on medical and public service centers, and targeting people from newborns to the elderly, were all part of the agenda.
The Supreme Leader said that those who committed war crimes should be brought to justice and punished for their war crimes.
He added that the statements of certain US and Israeli leaders are an admission of this and even openly express pride in such actions that are in fact an admission of crimes, which provide a solid legal basis for restoring the violated rights of the Iranian people.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said that such legal action will help prevent the commission of similar crimes in the future.
