Amid reports of internal differences within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the party has formed a six-member committee under the leadership of Asad Qaiser to improve coordination and address organisational matters, according to an official statement.

The committee includes Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, Ali Asghar Khan, Meena Khan, Akbar Ayub, and Atif Khan, the statement said.

According to the announcement, the committee will play a role in strengthening communication between the parliamentary party and the provincial government, helping bridge gaps and ensure smoother coordination on policy and political matters.

It will also function as a consultative forum involving Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the provincial party president, and the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain leadership, the statement added.

Sources said that a recent meeting of the PTI parliamentary party in Peshawar saw the absence of more than 30 members, including a significant number of reportedly disgruntled lawmakers.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, was attended by all 92 members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, who had been invited to participate.

According to sources, 11 members had already excused themselves due to prior engagements, while more than 20 dissatisfied lawmakers did not attend the meeting.

Party insiders said the absences reflect ongoing internal tensions within the provincial setup, prompting the formation of the coordination committee to address grievances and improve communication among party ranks.
