Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered immediate commencement of work on the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Flyover project in Hyderabad.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the development project of Hyderabad.
The meeting was attended by Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Planning and Development Jam Khan Shoro, Minister for Works and Services Ali Hassan Zardari, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Chairman P&D Najam Shah, Principal Secretary Agha Wasif and Secretary Local Government Waseem Shamshad.
The Sindh Chief Minister directed that the flyover be completed by the first week of July. He decided to inaugurate the flyover in July.
It was informed in the briefing at the meeting that the land possession for the project was given in 2018, the construction work was stalled due to legal proceedings and other issues. The project from Hyderabad Bypass to Akram Wah was part of the federal scheme.
It was informed in the briefing that the provincial government has already completed a lot of civil works, the casting of 24 bridge girders has been completed, however, the structure is still incomplete.
The Sindh Chief Minister directed to resolve all technical and financial obstacles immediately.
Murad Ali Shah said that no further delay will be tolerated in the flyover project, the flyover is an important project to reduce the pressure of urban traffic.
The Sindh Chief Minister directed the departments to coordinate and expedite the work immediately.
Provincial Minister for Works Ali Hassan Zardari assured the Sindh Chief Minister that he would supervise the development work of the flyover and ensure its completion by July on the instructions of the Sindh Chief Minister.
