First Test match; Pakistan scored 179 runs for 1 wicket against Bangladesh

Pakistan scored 179 runs for the loss of 1 wicket by the end of the second day of the first Test match against Bangladesh, however, the national team still needs 234 more runs to end the first innings lead of the host team.

Pakistan started its first innings cautiously on the second day of the match played in Dhaka. Opener Azan Owais is not out with 85 runs while Abdullah Fazal is at the crease with 37 runs. The only wicket that fell for Pakistan was that of Imam-ul-Haq who was out for 45 runs, Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Mirza took one wicket.

Earlier, the entire Bangladesh team was dismissed for 413 runs in the first innings. The second day of the game started with Mushfiqur Rahim making 48 and Liton Das making 8 runs. Bangladesh captain Najamul Hassan Shanto scored a century while batting brilliantly and scored 101 runs, while Momin-ul-Haq stood out with 91 runs. Other batsmen included Mushfiqur Rahim 71, Liton Das 33, Mehidy Hasan Mirza 10 and Tejul Islam 17.

Fast bowler Mohammad Abbas bowled a devastating spell for Pakistan, taking 5 wickets, while Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets.

After the end of Bangladesh’s innings, the match has entered an interesting phase and on the third day, Pakistan will try to first equal the score of the host team and then take the lead.

It should be noted that at the end of the first day, Bangladesh scored 301 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
