Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani reiterated their commitment to further diplomatic efforts for lasting peace in the region and discussed the situation in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani today and during a warm and cordial conversation between the two leaders, the current situation in the region was discussed in detail.
The statement said that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to furthering the ongoing diplomatic efforts for the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while recalling his recent visit to Doha on April 16, said that his meetings with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Qatari leadership proved to be very useful in building consensus for the promotion of peace in the region.
He said that the people of Pakistan look forward to the Emir of Qatar’s soon visit to Pakistan and his visit will play an important role in further strengthening and deepening the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.
The Qatari Prime Minister appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and assured Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that Qatar will continue to fully support the ongoing diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan for peace, security and stability in the Middle East.
The two leaders agreed to continue close communication and consultations on all matters of mutual interest.
