The government has enacted the Transit of Goods Order 2026, which allows the transport of goods to Iran via Pakistan.
According to the notification of the Transit of Goods Order 2026, new transit routes have been officially announced. Gwadar, Karachi and Taftan routes have been allocated for transit.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, goods going to Iran from third countries will be able to pass through Pakistan, and Gwadar Port has also been given status for commercial purposes.
According to the notification, financial guarantee has been made mandatory for transit cargo, and customs procedures will be applicable under FBR rules.
