An important meeting was held in Islamabad between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and US Ambassador Natalie Baker, in which the latest situation in the region and issues related to peace and stability were discussed in detail.
The meeting also discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts to hold the second round of talks in Islamabad.
Mohsin Naqvi appreciated Donald Trump’s move to extend the ceasefire, calling it a positive step towards reducing tensions.
He stressed that the continuation of diplomatic channels is essential for a lasting solution to the conflict and expressed the hope that all parties would prioritize a peaceful solution.
He also said that Shahbaz Sharif and Asim Munir are making full efforts at all levels to resolve this issue, while positive progress is also expected from Iran.
On this occasion, Natalie Baker appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in establishing peace and resolving conflicts in the region and termed diplomatic efforts as important.
