President Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire by postponing the US delegation’s visit to Pakistan, but also indicated that the blockade of the Iranian navy would continue.
The American newspaper New York Post has made a surprising revelation in its latest report, which states that President Trump has confirmed the possibility of talks starting in one and a half to three days.
According to BBC Urdu, New York Post journalist Caitlin Doornbos said that she was told by Trump and Pakistani sources that talks are possible as early as Friday.
The New York Post made this claim citing a Pakistani source who told the American newspaper on condition of anonymity that talks with Iran in Islamabad could begin any time in the next three days.
The report said that when President Trump was asked by Pakistani sources about the possibility of talks starting in three days, the US President replied in a text message that it was possible.
It should be remembered that the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran is set to end on April 22, but yesterday President Trump extended the war until Iran’s political and military leadership reaches an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz.
