Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is likely to be appointed as the head coach of the red ball team, after which he will take on the coaching responsibilities of the national team for the first time.

According to reports, the aim of this decision is to create better coordination between the team management and the captain to improve the performance of the Pakistan team in the Test format.

According to sources, Sarfaraz Ahmed may take over the responsibilities of current head coach Azhar Mahmood, while he will also continue his responsibilities as selector. The Pakistan team will next play Test series against Bangladesh, West Indies and England.
