UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has made a telephone call to Iranian Parliament Speaker Baqir Qalibaf, which is being described as a major breakthrough in the context of the Iran-Iraq war.

According to the UAE’s official news agency, the two leaders discussed the possibilities of ending tensions in the region.

According to reports, this is the first high-level contact between Iran and the UAE since the war that began on February 28.

According to media reports, in response to the US and Israeli attacks, Iran targeted US bases in the Gulf, with the United Arab Emirates being the worst affected.

The reports said that in addition to US bases in the UAE, hotels, universities, commercial centers and energy facilities were also attacked.
