Strait of Hormuz could not be fully restored; oil price again nears $100

Due to which the price of American crude oil ‘West Texas Intermediate’ has reached about $ 100 per barrel, while the global benchmark Brent has also been around $ 97.

Today (Thursday), the price of US crude oil rose more than 5% and touched the $100 mark for the first time since the ceasefire was announced.Just a day earlier, oil prices had seen a historic drop of 16 percent to around $18, the biggest daily drop since 1983.

It should be remembered that a two-week ceasefire agreement had been reached between Iran and the United States, during which the United States would cease attacks and Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz.

However, tensions have flared up again due to Israel’s actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the ceasefire agreement appears to be in trouble.

It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz is the most important route for the worldwide transport of crude oil, which Iran considers its property and is practically under its control.
