Prime Minister and Field Marshal hold important meeting on US-Iran mediation issue

Satisfaction over the mediation efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir to defuse tensions in the region, he reviewed the steps taken and praised the parties for showing restraint.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Field Marshal Asim Munir met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House and expressed satisfaction over the peace efforts in the region.

The statement said that during the meeting, a detailed review was taken of the progress made in Pakistan’s mediation efforts to establish lasting peace in the region and both expressed satisfaction over the reduction in tension so far.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Field Marshal urged all parties to maintain ceasefire and peace, and they appreciated the restraint shown by all sides.

On this occasion, it was reiterated that Pakistan will continue to provide all possible facilities and full cooperation for a solution through peaceful and mutual negotiations between the parties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the commitment of the parties involved and expressed his best wishes for their efforts to achieve peace. Both leaders also renewed their invitation to the delegations coming to Pakistan and assured them of all possible facilities and full cooperation.

It should be noted that a two-week ceasefire was agreed upon between the US and Iran through Pakistan’s mediation, and negotiations will be held between the two sides in Islamabad on Saturday, for which a high-level delegation led by US Vice President JD Vance will come to Pakistan, while a high-level delegation will arrive from Iran.
