Iran has targeted Saudi Arabia’s oil pipeline that passes through the Strait of Hormuz, which is also the only route for exporting crude oil.

According to the international news agency Reuters, the pipeline was transporting about 7 million barrels of oil per day from Saudi Arabia’s eastern oil heartland to the Red Sea port of Yanbu.

The purpose of this important Saudi Arabian pipeline was to transport oil and gas trapped there due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to global markets.

Reuters has claimed that the Iranian attack has severely damaged Saudi Arabia’s oil pipeline, while other important facilities in the country have also been targeted.

According to sources, the pipeline is likely to affect oil flows and the damage is being assessed, which according to experts could further deepen the world’s energy crisis.

It should be noted that Aramco uses about 2 million barrels of oil per day for domestic use, after which about 5 million barrels are left for export.

In the week starting March 23, the full capacity of oil loading from Yanbu, or 4.6 million barrels per day, was maintained, although this process continued despite the targeted attack on March 19.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement issued on Wednesday that it had hit multiple targets in the region with missiles and drones, including oil installations of US companies.
