US President Donald Trump has claimed that the new president of Iran has requested a ceasefire from the US, but will consider this request if the Strait of Hormuz opens.

US President Donald Trump said in a statement on his social media platform Truth Social that ‘the new president of Iran is less extremist and much more intelligent than his predecessors and has now requested a ceasefire from the US’.

He said, ‘We will consider this when the Strait of Hormuz opens, is free and secure, by which time we are completely destroying Iran or, as they say, sending it back to the Stone Age’.

It should be remembered that the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, as a result of which Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, top commanders of the Revolutionary Guards and other important figures and citizens were martyred, while Iran fired missiles and drones at US military bases in the Middle East and Israel in retaliation, which is still ongoing.

Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga told European Council President Antonio Costa in a telephone conversation yesterday that he was ready to stop the operations if the United States and Iran gave strong guarantees that they would not attack again in the future.

He said that the only solution to normalize the situation resulting from the American and Israeli attacks on Iran is for the aggressors to stop their aggressive activities. We have never initiated tension or war at any stage and if the required conditions are met, especially the necessary guarantees to prevent future attacks, then we have the determination to end this war.

The Iranian president said that Iran respects the sovereignty of its neighboring countries and has never tried to harm them, but there is no option left but to attack the American bases in these countries.
