Meeting of foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt concludes in Islamabad

Islamabad: A key meeting was held in Islamabad today hosted by Pakistan to reduce the ongoing tension in the Middle East, in which the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey participated.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the foreign ministers. The Saudi foreign minister arrived at the Nur Khan Air Base in Islamabad by a special plane to attend the meeting.

Saudi Foreign Minister Farhan bin Faisal’s visit is of utmost importance in view of the recent tension in the Middle East.

After the arrival of the three foreign ministers, an important meeting was held between the four foreign ministers, in which important discussions were held regarding the ceasefire and establishment of peace in the Middle East and various proposals were considered. The first round of talks has ended, the next round will be held soon, in which each other will be informed about the progress made on the proposals given.

Separate meetings with Turkish and Egyptian Foreign Ministers

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held separate meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdul Ati at the Foreign Office to discuss the tense situation in the region and matters of mutual interest.

During his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Ishaq Dar highlighted the historical, brotherly and strong relations between Pakistan and Turkey. Ishaq Dar said that the relations between the two countries are based on shared history, culture and mutual respect. He expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in bilateral relations.

The Pakistani and Turkish Foreign Ministers reiterated their commitment to further promote cooperation in various fields. The two leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations in the meeting and discussed the possibilities of further strengthening the strategic partnership.

Discussing the regional situation, the two sides discussed the current situation in Iran and other important developments and emphasized the importance of dialogue and continuous diplomatic contacts for peace and stability in the region.

In the meeting, the two countries reiterated their unwavering support for each other’s core national interests, agreed to maintain close communication and further deepen the bilateral strategic partnership.

Egyptian Foreign Minister arrives at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Atty upon his arrival at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two leaders comprehensively reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations.

They expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in recent high-level exchanges, especially since the visit of the Egyptian Foreign Minister to Pakistan in November 2025. They reiterated their commitment to further promote cooperation in all areas.

The two ministers stressed the need to increase bilateral trade and investment. In this regard, they agreed on the importance of activating bilateral mechanisms, establishing a joint ministerial commission, and promoting business-to-business contacts.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister appreciated Egypt’s continued support in the health sector, especially in the fight against Hepatitis C, and welcomed the ongoing cooperation in this area.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the positive progress in cooperation in the fields of defense and security. They agreed to further strengthen cooperation through training exchanges and other institutional mechanisms.

The two sides exchanged views on the regional and international situation, especially the situation in the Middle East. They stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for tolerance, de-escalation, and conflict resolution.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, while reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, strongly condemned the ongoing aggression by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza and the West Bank. He appreciated Egypt’s role in providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.

The two countries agreed to continue close cooperation in multilateral fora, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to further strengthen the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt and to expand cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The visit of the Egyptian Foreign Minister is a continuation of recent high-level contacts between the two countries, including the meetings held in Riyadh on March 19, 2026. It is a manifestation of the close coordination between Pakistan and Egypt in the context of the changing regional situation.
