T20 World Cup: Pakistan defeats Namibia by 102 runs, advances to the semi-finals

Pakistan defeated Namibia by 102 runs in the T20 World Cup to reach the semi-finals.

In the match played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, the Namibian team faced difficulties in chasing the target of 200 runs and its players were dismissed one after another.

By the 16th over, eight Namibian players were out and the team’s total score was 96, Frylank 9, Lofti Eaton 5, Steenkamp 23 and captain Gerhard Erasmus returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs.

On the third ball of the 17th over, all Namibian players were out, chasing the target of 200 runs, the Namibian team could score only 97 runs.

For Pakistan, Usman Tariq took four, Shadab Khan three, while Nawaz and Salman Mirza took one wicket each.

Pakistan’s batting

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, and thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s record-breaking innings, Pakistan set a mountain of runs against Namibia.

Pakistan scored 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s unbeaten century. Sahibzada Farhan scored 100 and Shadab Khan remained unbeaten on 36 runs.

This is Sahibzada Farhan’s first T20 International century and with it, he also became the second Pakistani batsman to score a century in the T20 World Cup after Ahmed Shehzad.

Captain Salman Ali Agha was dismissed for 38, Saim Ayub for 14 and Khawaja Nafi for 5.

For Namibia, Jack Brassel took 2 wickets and Gerhard Erasmus took one wicket.
