ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the suicide attack at the Islamabad Imambargah was planned in Afghanistan and the mastermind of the attack is in our custody, while we had information about where the attacker was trained.

Addressing a press conference, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that yesterday was a black day for the whole of Pakistan, we are praying for all the affected families.

He said that yesterday’s incident was such that it has shaken us all, after yesterday’s explosion, all our agencies came out in its lead, operations were going on all night yesterday.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have arrested almost all those who were connected to them or were the masterminds, for which I congratulate the CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the entire team.

He said that immediately after the explosion, a raid was conducted in Nowshera and 4 facilitators were arrested. The mastermind of ISIS, who is Afghan, was also arrested, while an ASI of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police was martyred during the raid.

He said that the main mastermind belongs to ISIS and is in our custody. The entire planning of this incident was done in Afghanistan, where he was trained. We also had information about it. A total of four people have been arrested, two people did the recce.

The Interior Minister said that he did not expect to be caught so quickly, but our institutions did a very good job. The entire ISIS network was caught. These people work for money.
