Warm welcome for Kazakhstan President at Prime Minister House, signing of MoUs and agreements

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif warmly welcomed Kazakh President Qasim Jomart upon his arrival at the Prime Minister House.

Upon his arrival at the Prime Minister House, Kazakh President Qasim Jomart was presented with a guard of honor and the national anthems of both countries were played. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif introduced the guest to the members of the federal cabinet, while the Kazakh President introduced the Prime Minister to the members of his delegation.

On this occasion, a reception ceremony was held in honor of the Kazakh President, in which high-ranking officials and diplomatic delegations of both countries participated. After the reception ceremony, an important meeting was held between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Kazakh President, in which detailed discussions were held on the relations between the two countries, the regional situation and issues of promoting cooperation in various fields. On this occasion, it was agreed to further strengthen the ties between the two countries.

Signing of Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements

After the meeting, a signing ceremony was held to expand cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of Kazakhstan also signed a joint declaration, which is being described as a significant development in bilateral relations.

During the ceremony, 19 memorandums of understanding and documents of agreements on cooperation in various fields were exchanged. These include cooperation in UN peacekeeping forces, partnership in the mining and petroleum sectors, exchange of prisoners and cooperation in the maritime sector.

Documents of agreements on transit trade agreements, cooperation in the customs sector and partnership in the railway department between Pakistan and Kazakhstan were also exchanged. The aim of these agreements is to make trade relations and transportation systems between the two countries more effective.

The two countries also agreed on cooperation in the field of climate change, partnership in virtual assets, cooperation in the fields of protection and veterinary. A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and digital development was also exchanged at the ceremony.

According to officials, this agreement will help promote future technical cooperation and digital partnership between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

The signing ceremony of the MoU and agreements was also attended by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal.
