Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has strongly opposed the military operation in the Tirah Valley, saying that the Afridi nation did not agree with the committee members but they were forced to vacate their homes during the snowfall season.

In a statement regarding the Tirah Valley operation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that today, the most difficult conditions have once again been imposed on the Tirah Valley. Imran Khan’s democratically elected government was overthrown through a regime change operation. After the regime change, when terrorists were re-establishing themselves, we held jirgas and peace passes from Khyber to Hazara and Malakand to DI Khan and Waziristan.

He said that we warned that the heads of the Pakhtun nation were being traded and terrorism was being imposed on us again. At that time, the illegitimate PDM government used to say that we were spreading false propaganda. At that time, the Pakhtun nation came out in large numbers and rejected the decisions of the closed rooms.

He said that in the districts where the people rejected these decisions, by the grace of Allah, peace is still prevailing there. Unfortunately, in the districts where this threat was not taken seriously, we are again facing unrest. The decisions taken in closed rooms brought down the democratically elected government of Imran Khan, which resulted in unrest and the economy was destroyed, and today investors and youth are looking for ways to flee the country.

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that when closed room decisions were being imposed on the Tirah Valley, I raised my voice against it. When 22 major and more than 14,000 intelligence-based operations could not end the unrest, then someone should explain to us what the beneficial results of the operation again would be.

He said that all schools of thought under the umbrella of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and the jirga of all political parties in the province unanimously approved the 15-point agenda. Everyone was in agreement that military operations are not the solution to the problem and that terrorism is not being eliminated through operations.

Sohail Afridi said that everyone said that a solution to the problem should be found by sitting together so that permanent peace can be established, but they did not agree and it was decided in closed rooms that an operation should be imposed on the Tirah Valley once again. A 24-member committee was formed under the leadership of the Corps Commander and the IGFC, in which the elders of the Afridi nation were told to vacate their homes because terrorists launch attacks from these homes.

He said that the Afridi people did not agree with the committee members, but they were forced to vacate their homes during the snowfall season. I kept making it clear again and again that in the area where the operation is being carried out, even animals cannot survive due to snowfall. Now the whole world is watching the elderly, children and women who are being displaced, and the operation is not even possible due to snowfall.
