Security forces killed 13 Khawarij members belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna-ul-Khawarij during two intelligence-based operations in Bannu and Kurram districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 13 and 14.
According to the ISPR, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district on information about the presence of Khawarij. During the operation, forces effectively targeted the Khawarij hideout, killing 8 Khawarij members after a fierce exchange of fire.
Another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Kurram district where 5 Khawarij members were killed in an effective action during an exchange of fire.
According to the ISPR, clearance and search operations are underway to eliminate any Indian-sponsored Khawarij members possibly present in the area.
Under the vision “Determination of Stability” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies will continue the counter-terrorism campaign until the complete elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism. The security forces will continue operations at all costs to uproot the scourge of terrorism from the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised the security forces for killing 13 terrorists and said that under the vision of determination of stability, the security forces are achieving great successes against terrorism. The entire nation stands with the Pakistani forces in this war against terrorism. We are determined to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
