Tando Jam (Staff Reporter): The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) continues to carry forward the mission of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari to make Sindh clean and green, while promoting women’s empowerment. Under his vision, SSWMB aims to promote environmental awareness, proper waste management, and community participation across the province, ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier and greener Sindh. Through a series of educational and mobilization initiatives, the Board engages schools, communities, and local stakeholders to instill the values of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental stewardship.
Under this initiative, SSWMB has launched an “Awareness Campaign” across the districts of Sindh. As part of the campaign, an event was organized at the Government Girls High School (Farm), Tando Jam, Taluka Hyderabad.

The event was held under the theme:
Shah Latif Ki Dharti [Shah Latif’s Land]
Saaf Suthri, Pakeeza aur Mehakti [Clean, Pure, and Fragrant]
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Na’at-e-Rasool (PBUH). An awareness walk was also conducted outside the school premises. During the event, the SSWMB team educated students about proper waste management practices. Students and teachers shared their reflections and experiences during the program.
Students added vibrancy to the event through speeches, tableaux, role-plays, poetry, and activities highlighting Shah Latif’s teachings. Teachers also emphasized the importance of a clean environment in an engaging manner.
Children actively participated in waste segregation, separating wet and dry waste into designated bins. They also took part in tree plantation activities. Health and hygiene messages were painted on walls through wall paintings, and traditional folk songs energized the participants, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and celebration.
Art projects created by the students became the center of attention, showcasing creativity while reinforcing the message of cleanliness and environmental awareness.
