Batting first, India scored 349 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, Virat Kohli played a brilliant innings of 135 runs, which included seven sixes and 11 fours.

Captain KL Rahul was prominent with 60 and Rohit Sharma with 57 runs. Marco Johnson, Nandri Burger, Corbin Bosh and Otneil Baartman took 2 wickets each for South Africa.
